Herb-Infused Olive Oil

Herb-infused olive oil is a great gift any time of the year, but especially at Chanukah, whether a “thank you for inviting me” hostess gift or a “do it yourself” party favor your guests make themselves and take home.


  • Funnel
  • 8-ounce resealable glass bottles (swing top or corked work great)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
  • Hemp string or twine
  • Small gift tags


Pull the funnel out of your cocktail set and fill a glass bottle for each of your guests with olive oil to the three-quarter mark. Gently bruise the rosemary or other hearty winter herb like thyme by rolling with your hands on a plate and squeeze a sprig into each bottle before closing. Write a witty message to your guests on the gift tag in your finest penmanship like “Oil Vey! Happy Hanukkah. With Love, Us.” Loop the string through the note, wrap around the bottle and deliver smiles.
