Apples + Homies- a cider nosh:pitality
Tuesday, September 12, 2017
6:45 PM — 8:30 PM
Downtown DC United States
How bout them apples? Come one + come all to DC’s September nosh, *conveniently* relating to everyone’s fave upcoming high holiday (Rosh is juiced around the corner)! We’ll be learning a bushel about hard cider! Join us for a tasting + pairing, and we’ll get at the “core” of how cider ties into Judaism. You’ll leave with the necessary in-cider knowledge to figure out what makes a good cider and where to get that (golden) delicious cider in DC (maybe even as nourishment for your next fall dinner…)! There is literally no down-cider to joining us. Sign up soon so you don’t disappoint your granny (smith). I should stop making apple puns now… orchard I?
This nosh will be lead by Michael Stein. Michael is President of Lost Lagers, a beverage research firm, and writes for the Washington City Paper, CIDERCRAFT Magazine, and DC Beer. He has served his historic beers at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and serves as the historian at DC Brau Brewing Company, the first production brewery in DC since 1956.
We’ll be providing apples + honey, cheese galore, cider, pairing snacks, and a light dinner!
