Ice Cream Cones in circleHow sweet it is—the Sweet Summer Series is back! On a number of nights between Memorial Day and Labor Day, families with young children will gather at local ice cream and fro-yo shops for summer evenings of treats, crafts, books and socializing.

PJ Library®, along with its community partners, holds these events throughout the Greater Washington area. Last year, there were 18 total, stretching from Capitol Hill to Leesburg, Bethesda to Olney and many points in between. The idea was to have an opportunity to connect the 4,700 local PJ Library® families in an easy, fun and delicious way.

The Sweet Summer Series was so popular in 2014—268 families participated over the course of the summer—and so fun, that it’s being replicated by other PJ communities across the country.

Here are the currently scheduled dates, with more to come, particularly in DC and NoVa. Bookmark the PJ Library® Community Calendar or this page for updates. If you have places to suggest in your neighborhood, please let us know!
