My dad Rick’s Recipe for Tehina and Honey tastes great on apples, but the peaches were so good this summer that mom experimented putting the mixture on the peaches and serving it with vanilla ice cream (soy, if necessary). It’s an easy, delicious and nutritious summer dessert. For Rosh Hashanah and in the fall, try this recipe with apples.

  • 2 tablespoons tehina
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 peaches, halved and pitted

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together tehina and honey until well combined. Fill peach halves with one teaspoon of tehina mixture. Put in baking pan and bake for about 20 minutes, until soft. You can also grill the peaches instead of baking by putting the halves on a hot grill, cut side-down, for about 3 minutes. Turn over and grill a few minutes more. Remove from grill and fill each half with tehina mixture. Whether baking or grilling, serve warm with a scoop of ice cream on top!
