I created this cocktail for last week’s dinner inspired by Marcia Friedman’s cookbook Meatballs and Matzah Balls presented by DGS Delicatessen and the Jewish Food Experience® at DGS in the Mosaic District. I had just sent my brother and sister-in-law a DIY “edible arrangement” for their first anniversary, so I’d had the idea of fruit and chocolate in my head for weeks, and the cocktail turned out to be a hit!
- 1 ounce rye whisky
- ¾ ounce white crème de cacao
- 1 ounce pineapple juice
- Squeeze of fresh lemon (less than ¼ ounce)
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Shake all ingredients except for cocoa in a shaker with ice. Strain into martini glasses. Dust lightly with cocoa powder for garnish.
