Easy Home Made Applesauce

Easy Home Made Applesauce Related:   gluten-free, holiday, kid-friendly, pareve

Prep time: 15 min

Cook time: 30 min

Yield: ~ 1.5 quarts

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of your favorite apples
  • Optional: cinnamon, brown or white sugar, low-cal sweetener

Preparation

Peel, quarter and core the apples. Put all the apples into a pot with a ¼ inch of water on the bottom. Cover and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally until the apples are cooked through and very soft. They should mash very easily with fork, potato masher or stick blender. I like mine a little chunky, so I just use a fork until they are the right consistency. Add cinnamon and/or sugar or sweetener to taste, if desired. Serve warm or cooled. Refrigerate leftover…if there is any.
