Cranberry Orange Relish

If you do host a Chanukah party, you don’t have to make the latkes. What’s the big sacrilege about ordering in? Perhaps this is your tradition, or one you’d like to create. Plus that would let you put more R&D time into dips, toppings and sauces, like this one.


  • 1 orange
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 package fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped


  • Grate the zest of the orange into a bowl. Mix the sugar with the zest and let sit for a few minutes. Peel and slice the orange, and remove seeds. Combine orange slices and cranberries in a food processor with sugar and walnuts. Pulse until the mixture reaches a fine consistency. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to blend.
