Sunday, October 9, 2016
10:30 AM — 1:30 PM
Just north of Military Rd NW

Kid-friendly Ticket Required

With Rabbi Sarah Tasman, InterfaithFamily/DC

Join GLOE Youth & Family to celebrate the New Year with other LGBTQ individuals, couples, teens, kids and families, and all our friends!

We’ll gather in Rock Creek Park for a friendly day of community, games and tashlich.Tashlich, which means “casting off” in Hebrew, is the High Holiday tradition of tossing bread crumbs into a flowing body of water, casting off the negatives of the past year and giving us a chance to reflect on our hopes for ourselves and families in the coming year. There will be time to connect and to play plenty of games.

Tickets: FREE / $5 suggested donation per family/group
All ages

Rabbi Sarah Tasman, of InterfaithFamily/DC, will lead us in a special holiday-related activity. Afterwards, for those who would like to participate, we’ll cast our crumbs into Rock Creek, and together, we’ll envision a sweet new year!

If you’d like, please bring a picnic lunch and blanket for yourself, and we’ll provide everything else, including (kosher) sweets, the apples and honey, plus games and lots ofruach/spirit!
