Pineapple Presents: The Queen of Jewish Cuisine

On Rye
Wednesday, May 31, 2017
7:00 PM — 9:00 PM
740 6th Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20001 United States

Reservation Required Metro-accessible

In April, Joan Nathan, the queen of Jewish cuisine, published her 11th cookbook, King Solomon’s Table. King Solomon’s Table is part cookbook, part recount of the history of the Jewish people: each recipe highlights a different story that sheds light on Jewish cultural and religious significance. The book displays the diversity of the Jewish diaspora and its culinary traditions from across the globe, whether it be Brazilian-Belarusian Grouper, El Salvadorian Yuca Latkes or Polish shritzlach.

To celebrate Joan’s most ambitious project yet, pineapple DC is thrilled to host a conversation and interview led by Kate Krader, food editor, Bloomberg News and former restaurant editor of Food & Wine, at our favorite Jewish gathering spot, On Rye. Bites will be provided by On Rye’s Ilyse Fishman Lerner and Gordy Pickle Jar’s Sarah Gordon and Sheila Fain.

A cookbook signing will follow the conversation.
