Shannon Sarna will tell you — hamantashen don’t need to be dry or crumbly, nor do they need to be filled with traditional jams and pie fillings.

And she should know! Ms. Sarna is the author of the cookbook Modern Jewish Baker: Challah, Babka, Bagels & More, the editor of the popular Jewish food blog The Nosher, and a contributing writer on Kveller. Born to an Italian mother who loved to bake, a Jewish father who loved to experiment, and a food chemist grandfather, loving and experimenting with diverse foods is simply in her blood.

Book sale and signing to follow the presentation. Open to the community — bring a friend! RSVP at www.whctemple.org/Sisterhood.
