Join Avodah and the Jewish Food Experience® for an event on food, health and social impact for Avodah alumni and the larger Jewish community. Elyse Cohen, former deputy director of Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative, will facilitate a panel with guests from DC Central Kitchen, Misfit Juicery and USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion on the severity of hunger and nutrition and ways they are associated with income and poverty. We’ll explore strategies to improve the current paradigm by focusing on how nonprofits, businesses and government can work together to move these critical issues forward. Additionally, we’ll address ways for the Jewish community to increase our involvement in the fight for food justice.
