Mitzvah Hoppin’ is a program of Young Leadership of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and NEXT DC (the DC-area Birthright Alumni Network) that promotes the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world) by providing young adults with volunteer opportunities in the local community.
Everything But The Turkey (EBTT) is an event organized by the Edlavitch DCJCC’s Morris Cafritz Center for Community Service, where volunteers prepare Thanksgiving-themed side dishes that help those experiencing hunger and homelessness in the District enjoy some Thanksgiving warmth and cheer the week of the Thanksgiving holiday. We run the program for three days to allow more people to be able to enjoy it – including a special edition for families with young children and one just for young professionals in the city.
