About the Author

Ira Cohen KeremAfter graduating university in 1971, Ira, a native Washingtonian, hitchhiked around the world for two years. While in Communist Romania, he visited the kosher restaurant of the Cluj community. The warmth of that experience inspired him to organize the Kosher Kitchen restaurant in Washington. Ira has lived in Jerusalem since 1979 and represented many Jewish Federations, including Washington from 1995 to 2002.
