Join Federation’s Jewish Food Experience® as we make a meaningful difference at Common Good City Farm, a nonprofit whose mission is to grow food, educate, and help low-income DC community members meet their food needs. On Sunday, August 13th, we’ll be volunteering outdoors to harvest, weed and plant, while learning more about sustainable agriculture. Meet Jake Ifshin, Executive Director of Everybody Grows, a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and equip people to grow fresh, healthy food by bringing the home garden to everybody, wherever home may be.

Federation’s Jewish Food Experience (JFE) brings people together through the universal language of Jewish food. JFE hopes to inspire the community to embrace Jewish culture, community and history with intriguing food stories by local chefs, innovative events around town and traditional recipes with a twist.
Common Good City Farm is a local farm that provides hand-on training to the community in food production, healthy eating and environmental sustainability. The farm and its programs integrate people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities to create vibrant and safe communities.
